Vincent Van Gogh – The World Famous Artist With Epilepsy

A myriad of artists, actors, comedians and others who have been blessed with a deep creativity will often find pain, sorrow or ill health lurking behind public face to accompany their genius.  Robin Williams is a perfect example.  The various styles of creativity can become an escape, a form of communication and/or a way to channel and focus pain or emotion.

Vincent Van Gogh falls into this category.  From the information of his medical records, it appears he suffered a great deal throughout his life.  This wasn’t just due to a number of health issues, but to a plethora of lifestyle preferences which affected the conditions he had.   Seizures plagued him but despite his diagnosis of epilepsy, he became one of the greatest painters in the world.
